Pets For Life
Ten and his friend Hercules visiting a Nursing Home just before Halloween.
The residents love having the dogs visit and them being
in costumes gave them a few extra laughs.
When my Father was living with us and in treatment for terminal cancer,
our female cavalier Bailey never left his side. She sat beside him day and night.
She didn't crowd him but was always within petting distance.
I never saw her beg for food but those last few bites sometimes disappeared off his plate
when I turned my back. Dad always said Bailey takes good care of me; its like she was trained for this.
Dad was always telling everyone she would make a good therapy dog,
going to hospitals and nursing homes.
I promised him that I would become involved with " Pets for Life".
When my Father lost his fight with Esophageal cancer on December 1, 2005,
Bailey was right beside him on his hospital bed. I have no medical proof but
those who know someone that have or had this type of cancer the problems and side affects
associated with it are horrendous, my Father had none of them.
He attributed it to his great relationship with Bailey.
When I chose one of my Cavaliers to Join "Pets for Life" I did not consider using Bailey
because of the length of time she mourned the loss of Dad.
He was born and raised on a farm near Prairie Home, Missouri named
"Meadowbrook's Farm" .
When My husband Joe and I took our love of Cavaliers into breeding them,
Dad ask if we would use the name of the family Farm and we jumped at the idea.
